A new identity for MoonShadow Stories, a storytelling performance and consultancy. As great stories use a lot of symbolism, we worked with Kamini to develop set of motifs for the website & newsletters. Special care was paid to the typography as well, to reflect the beautiful words that we love in books.

The website also serves as a treasure trove for MoonShadow, archiving its extensive library and media. A stories section is also in development, to archive classic folklore.

Visit website →

The National Book Development Council of Singapore engaged us in late 2011 to design the look for their All In! Young Writers Media Festival event that was held in February of 2012. We were tasked with creating a flyer, a booklet and a couple of standee banners for the event.

The look was designed with the idea of ‘inclusivity’ in mind. Round circles in a repeated circular pattern as part of a never-ending pattern was laid out, and used in the the booklet.

As the initial site map was very large with many external links, the approach was to try to feed in the external content back to the website.

The inspiration came from the iconic album cover for Pink Flyod’s Dark Side of the Moon. Reversing this process, the refracted spectrum is collected back into a single ray of white light. (Light Collective vs. Collected Light) Hurhur.

We then separated the content into three buckets denoted by the primary colours of the light spectrum, which in turn join together to form Collected Light.

A mashboard presents a platter of latest online & offline activities. It also serves as the fill-ins in the home page (as shown below).

A world map of collaborators, which were in turn linked to Projects.

External blogs were integrated into the site using RSS, reducing the need for double-entry.

Light Collective is probably one of our busiest clients. The UK based group do really cool projects from secret parties to lighting workshops with a social cause to private beach houses. (We envy their calendar!) They had a one page website, but they write for several blogs, run some of their own, including a T-shirt store, and tweet avidly (we told you they were busy). The design approach for their new website was naturally to bring all their online and offline activities into one big smorgasbord.

860 lines of CSS, many emails and one year later, we are ready to launch the site. And boy, do we like it!

Visit website →

Part of the Life Before Death initiative, Last Outfit tackles the taboo of death in a light-hearted manner – the shroud. Participants were asked what they wanted to wear at their final act. More than just fashion choices, they are also a last communication with your friends and family, what you want them to remember you as.

8 photographers from The Straits Times captured 23 subjects attired in the final fashion statements of their choice. And as much as the “models” had to put thought into their Last Outfits, this was also a thought-provoking exercise for the photographers.

Visit website →

The concept for StarScape Education is to be a place where the students are able to discover their own passions and talents and be able to shine like stars. We were tasked with creating the identity of the newly formed center, and create a website which was both appealing to kids and adults. StarScape did not want to be another run of the mill tuition center, but wanted it to be a place where primary school kids really enjoy learning. This means we could have fun designing the identity!

Visit website →

Corporate Identity for Spain Global, a Spanish Singapore-based international business conglomerate. Spain Global divides its services into 3 sub-entities: Consultis, Laboris and Liberis. A sister company, Ikarti, deals in Spanish Books.

The Spain Global logo, with its’ overlapping strips coming together, forms a globe. The movement and overlapping of the strips is a visual metaphor for change, transformation, adaptation, and assimilation. The sub-entities, being a component of Spain Global, use the same logo, but with different names.

A range of stationery was designed for Spain Global. The namecards are printed on 360 gsm-thick Japanese art card, with pantone gold printing for the logo and text, and spot UV varnish on the logo. Envelopes, letterheads, and the namecards were printed with the Podium logo as a watermark. Both the envelopes & letterheads were printed on Conqueror Micro Laid Diamond White paper. The folder is printed on 420 gsm Artcard with solid Pantone Gold 871C, with UV spot varnish on the logo. Diecut slits were made to the interior for slotting a single namecard.
A brochure designed for Toshiba, to promote the new Blu-Ray DVD player. The client suggested a design that departs from the norm. For them, the norm works with heavy photoshopping and photography. We wanted a design that would be different from that which we normally see in showrooms like Audio House.

We proposed a newspaper, editorial design. The front and back pages are designed with a serif typeface, and follows the typical design conventions associated with newspaper layouts. The inner spread, follows the ‘norm’ style, intended to be an advertisement, within the newspaper.
