Created to promote sustainable building design and practices, the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) required a robust content management system to maintain the website, so that it becomes the one-stop portal for industry news and events. A big part of the website lies on the Product Listing section, an online green building products database. Members of the site can upload and maintain their products and company info, reducing administrative work for the council.

Light & Movement: The Anthony Poon Retrospective was held at the Singapore Art Museum from the 5th of September 2009 to 10th of January 2010. This was also the first exhibition by the National Art Gallery for the late artist.

We met the family of Anthony Poon as early as 2008, to get a feel for the project. Present also was the curator, Ong Zhen Min, Ken, the photographer. It was certainly meaningful to meet the family and have a look at various objects and photographs that Mr. Poon acculmulated through the years. We learnt much about the man through these sessions, and not just about his artworks, but his personal life as well.

The design of the book was very much inspired by the title of the exhibition: Light & Movement. The book, number almost 150 pages, was large and heavy. We chose an image of his work which best embodied the title. Untitled, is a large sculptural painting, a signature of his. The text on the covers were spot varnished to provide the layer of gloss. We incorporated the typeface Avant Garde used by Mr. Poon himself, when he designed a catalogue for himself.

The theme for Archifest 09 was ‘Architecture for Humanity’.

Apart from the exhibitions, forums, tours and fringe events, a major portion of Archifest this year was the Photography Competition. The public was encouraged to pick up their cameras, and capture their own intepretation of the theme.

We use photography ourselves in our design for the identity and collatorals. Han was engaged to take photos island-wide with a simple brief: Capture as much sky + buildings as possible.

Carefully, we selected the pictures that most spoke most of the theme laid out the information in a very clean, grid-like fashion.

Archifest culminated in the Forum and Exhibition, both held at National Library.

Corporate identity for The Singapore Green Building Council includes their letterheads, envelopes, application forms, a brochure, and namecards.

The Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) logo, designed by Mr Tai Lee Siang, is a simple design of two young green leaves, appearing to germinate from text. The two leaves represent the public and private stakeholders in Singapore’s sustainable development programmes; when viewed together, they represent a synthesis of interests on a single stem – the commitment of Singapore to do its part to conserve the environment.

The green-and-grey colour scheme symbolises the Green Movement (of which the SGBC is part) and the industry’s practical approach to green buildings respectively. The border-free and pot-like layout of the logo also symbolises a culture of continual growth and openness of the Council.

All the collatorals were printed on Cyclus Offset paper, a 100% Recycled paper.
